Kevin F. Collins age 51, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday July 14, 2010 at his home under hospice care. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday July 16, 2010 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Kevin F. Collins was born in Madison, SD on April 22, 1959 to Bob and Davy (Johnston) Collins. He grew up in Howard, SD and graduated in 1977 from Howard High School. After his graduation he entered the US Army in 1977 where he served in California and Germany. Kevin was honorably discharged in 1980.

He returned to South Dakota to attend Lake Area Vocational Technical School in Watertown, SD. He met and was united in marriage with Kristy Cartney on June 3, 1983 in Watertown, SD.

After living in Watertown, they moved to the Black Hills where they lived for 20 years and raised their children Cory, Nick and Katie. In 2005, Kevin moved his family to Mitchell.

Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Kris, Mitchell, SD; their children Cory Collins, Nick Collins and Katie Collins, all of Mitchell, SD; his daughter Jody Klinkhammer-Becker, Watertown, SD; three grandchildren; his parents, Bob and Davy Collins, Mitchell, SD; two brothers Joe (Deb) Collins, Madison, SD and Mike (Sheila) Collins, Flandreau, SD; two sisters Jackie (Jim) Siver, Port LaVaca, TX, LeAnn Knudson, Sioux Falls, SD; and his grandmother, Cat Johnston, Mitchell, SD.

He was preceded in death by two children in infancy and his grandfathers and a grandmother.
