Kenneth Terveen, age 84 formerly of Mitchell died Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 1, at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Will Funeral Chapel with prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Kenneth Terveen, son of John and Elizabeth (Seivers) Terveen was born on a farm southwest of Emery on March 5, 1927. He grew up in Emery and Vilas South Dakota. He worked for REA and was a farm laborer. He married his wife Viola (Stubbe) on July 1, 1952. They moved to Dodge City, Kansas in 1986 and then back to South Dakota in 1990. He was grateful to share his life with his wife Viola, 3 daughters: Nancy McPeek, husband Chuck of Mitchell, Laurie Arreolla, husband Jose of Dodge City, KS, and Patti Jo Terveen of Witchita, KS; 2 sons: Darwin Terveen, wife Missy of Springfield, MO and Delwin Terveen of Sioux Falls, SD. 8 Grandchildren: Austin and Kelli McPeek, Jose Jr., Fabian, and Ismael Arreolla, Darren Terveen, and Michael Harman. 4 Great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Violet Terveen and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and 2 brother-in-laws.
