Kenneth H. Recker Jr., age 81 of Mitchell, SD, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the Aurora Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, SD. Funeral services will be at 5:30 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Northridge Baptist Church; visitation will begin one hour prior.

He was born March 19th, 1941 in Atlanta, GA to Kenneth Recker and Lillian Alexander.

He was the oldest of two boys and spent a majority of his childhood in Winter Haven, FL where he gained his love of the outdoors and water sports. Ken married Geraldine Barneyback on May 1, 1965 in Satellite Beach, FL. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1962 and became a member of the Army Shooting Team. He then attended California State University, Fullerton and graduated with a degree in finance.

His career in banking began in Montana shortly after graduation. He worked in many states over several decades. His passions and talents included painting, shooting high-powered rifles, boating, water skiing, fishing, hunting, and collecting antique cars. He won numerous awards as a rifle marksman competing nationally and was a talented wildlife artist.

He is survived by Geraldine (Gerry) Recker, four children, Audra Rew (Art), Kenneth Recker III (Stacy), Ryan Recker (Colleen), and Laryssa Erickson (Tait); four grandchildren Amelia Endres (Josh), Ashton Rew, Austin Recker, Rachel Recker; great-grandson Kase Endres, his brother Henry Recker, nephews, Richmond Recker and Chris Recker.
