Kenneth Kenny Michaelsen, age 62, of Mitchell, died July 28, 2004 at the Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 30, at 2:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Ethan. Kenny was born October 8, 1941, at Parkston to Lawrence and Eva (Prickett) Michaelsen. He was raised on a farm east of Dimock, SD and attended country school. He moved to Mitchell in 1975 and made his home at the Mitchell Area Adjustment Training Center. He was employed at various businesses in Mitchell. He loved to walk, to travel and attend area events. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He is survived by his aunts: Wilma (Prickett) Stainbrook, Mitchell; Emma (Prickett) Brown, Yankton; and Lila June (Prickett) Thorp, Sioux City, Iowa; one uncle, Leland Prickett and wife, Hattie, Tigard, Oregon and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents in 1973. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mitchell Area Adjustment Training Center.
