Kenneth A. Jager, age 77 of Alexandria, died Saturday April 11, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Salem. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the chapel. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Alexandria with military rites.

Kenneth Allen Jager was born September 12, 1931 to Otto and Agnes (Larson) Jager at Volin, SD.
He attended country school at Alpena, SD and farmed with his father up until he entered the Air Force in 1951. He served in Japan during the Korean Conflict.

On March 7, 1954 he married Doris Kopfmann in Alpena, SD. They lived in Savanna, Georgia where he was stationed until his honorable discharge on January 15, 1955.

They returned to Alexandria where he farmed with his father. During his lifetime he farmed in various locations and worked production for 3M and Toshiba for 20 years until his retirement in 1996.

He is survived by his wife Doris, two sons, Don and wife Mary, Fulton, Dennis and wife Jessica, Salem, two daughters, Teresa Byrd and husband Geoff, Mitchell, and Pat Wenande and husband Tim, Alexandria, sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Leo (Jeannette) Kommes of Howard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard, and one sister, Joyce Sterling, and a grandson, Jayden Jager.
