Keith was born October 24, 1930 to Walter and Marie (Dethlefs) Sheffield in Wessington Springs, SD. In 1948 Keith graduated from Wessington Springs High School. On January 18, 1952 he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War and was discharged on October 18, 1953. Keith married Dorothy Pawlowski in 1954 and to this union four children were born. He married Delores Juhnke on June 15, 1985 in Mitchell. Many years of Keith's life were dedicated to farming and various business endeavors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He didn't lack for fishing companions and met new people easily. Grateful for sharing his life are his children, Luanne Thompson and husband Kevin of Virgil, SD, Lavonne Bult and husband Gaylord of Kearney, NE, LeRoy Sheffield and wife Jo of Aberdeen, SD and Loren Sheffield of Tucson, AZ; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sisters Elaine King of Belle Fourche, SD, Beverly Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD, Linda Kowalski of Richland, WA, and special friend of 16 years Maxine Schmig of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers.
