IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce
Tuschen
October 30, 1934 – February 2, 2023
Joyce Tuschen, 88, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Bethany Home in Sioux Falls. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Will Funeral Chapel; visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery.
Joyce Elaine Trent was born October 30, 1934 in Spencer, SD to Maurice and Glenna (Dossett) Trent. She graduated from Spencer High School and later earned an associate degree from Mitchell Technical Institute. She was baptized, confirmed and a church member as her Christian faith was at the center of her life.
Joyce married Leonard Tuschen and had six children: Debbie, Gary, Susie, Mike, Kristi and Kelley.
Joyce loved her years on the Spencer farm raising her children. She moved to Mt. Vernon and also enjoyed her roles at Mitchell Methodist Hospital, Herter's, Mount Vernon School District, Mitchell "Daily Republic" and AAA where she retired in 2002.
In 2013, Joyce moved from Mitchell to Sioux Falls where she lived until her passing.
Joyce's favorite days involved anything with her family. She attended countless ball games, concerts, recitals and reunions. She loved to bake and her grandchildren especially enjoyed her strawberry rhubarb jelly. Everywhere she lived, Joyce joined a lively coffee group and easily made memories with very good friends.
Grateful for having shared her life are her siblings Dee (Jeanette) Trent of Colorado Springs, CO, Lynda Colety of Frisco, CO and Bill Peppmuller of Georgetown, CO; children Debbie Rowley of Madison, Gary (Jacqueline Haggar) Tuschen of Sioux Falls, Mike (Sandra Schlomer) Tuschen of Stickney, Kristi (Mark) Glissendorf of Sioux Falls and Kelley Willemssen of Shakopee, MN; Nine nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Jim (Lynda) Colety, daughter Susie (Ronnie) Wermers, nephews Todd and Troy Friese and grandson Lieutenant Clinton (Shannon) Wermers.
