Joyce Jones, 78, of Mitchell, SD passed away November 9 ^th , 2020 at her home. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held sometime in the future when family and friends can attend safely. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.

Joyce was born December 24 ^th , 1941 in Creston, IA to Frederick (Fritz) and Ruth (Coffman) Franklin.  She graduated from Cromwell High School (IA) in 1960 as valedictorian and then attended the University of Iowa.

She married Tom Helleloid in 1963 and they had 4 children, Troy, David, Jill and Christopher. They worked together in the insurance business until 1980.

She married Craig Jones in Mitchell, SD on May 23, 1986. She worked for Drs. Sandro Visani and Dileep Bhat until her retirement.  She loved spending time watching her grandchildren play sports as well as fishing and spending winters in Florida. She also loved to play cards and spend time with her card friends every week. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. She served on the Mitchell City Council and numerous organizations.

Joyce is survived by her husband Craig and children, Troy Helleloid (significant other Dawn Swenson) of Mitchell, SD, David (Wendy) Helleloid of Mitchell, SD, Jill (Mark) Mattox of Elkhorn, NE; stepchildren Wade (Chelsea) Jones of Mandan, ND and Libby (Matt) Larson of Kingman, AZ ; Grandchildren Sam, Ben, Jake, Abby, Payton, Haley, Elija, Brynn, Liam, Lucy, Jarod & Charlye; her siblings Jone (Bill) Snyder and Fred (Joyce) Franklin, both of Creston, IA; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Janet Lanik, and a son Christopher.
