Johnna Lee Wendelboe 55, of Dimock, SD died April 21, 2012 at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with burial at Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Johnna was born in Mitchell, SD on May 27, 1956 to Lloyd and Madonna (Kurtenbach) Thome. She attended school in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1974. While attending Mitchell High School, Johnna also attened Vo-Tech in Mitchell and received a secretarial degree. She was a housekeeper at Athony Motel and later employed at Super Eight. She married Milton Wendelboe on April 3, 1982; the couple lived in Fulton, Parkston, and finally Dimock. She ran the daycare for 25 years in Dimock, SD. In her later years she cared for two elderly individuals in the Dimock area. Johnna enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved animals, especially her two dogs Daisy and Molly. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock. Grateful for sharing her life are her two children, Jennifer Wendelboe, Madison, SD and Pete Wendelboe, Parkston, SD; her father, Lloyd John Thome, Mitchell, SD. She was preceded into death by her husband, Milton Wendelboe; her mother, and a brother in infancy Teddy Joe.
