James W. Olson, 52 of Sioux Falls and formerly of Mitchell, SD, passed away suddenly on Sunday July 23, 2006, at his residence. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel. The family will be present to greet friends beginning at 9am Thursday July 27, 2006. James William Olson, son of Orville and Wilma (Peterson) Olson, was born on September 8, 1953, in Hettinger, ND. At a young age, the family moved to Armour, SD, where he grew up and received his education, graduating from Armour High School in 1972. He continued his education at Mitchell Vo-Tech and graduated in 1973 with a Construction and Drafting Degree. Jim was united in marriage with Jackie Jamison on June 7, 1975, in Mitchell, SD. The family remained in Mitchell and began to raise a family while Jim worked for Jamison-Mueller Lumber Company. In 1983, Jim began working closely with his father-in-law Maurice Jamison in Future Homes Inc. In August of 1998, Jim went on his own with Olson Quality Construction until 2003. Jim and Jackie moved to Sioux Falls where he had been working with G.A. Johnson Construction until present. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Jackie Olson, Sioux Falls, SD; a daughter, Jamie Martinson and her husband Kelly, Mitchell, SD; a grandson, Max Kelly Martinson, Mitchell, SD; a brother, Orville "Snooks" Olson Jr., Armour, SD; his mother, Wilma Olson; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father Orville.
