Jessie Rose Freeman, age 77, of Ethan, died May 15, 2006 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 19 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Ethan. Jessie was born May 5, 1929, to John and Hazel (Chapman) Behrendt. She was a graduate of Parker High School. She married Edwin Freeman on September 25, 1948 at Luverne, Minnesota. She farmed in the Ethan area many years. She was a charter member of the Alvin Erpenbach American Legion Auxiliary in Ethan. She is survived by her children: Lynn Freeman, Viborg, SD, Orin Freeman and wife, Karen, Ethan, SD, Anita Freeman, Dublin, CA; seven grandchildren; sisters, Mary Martin, Sioux City, Iowa, and Beverly Parks, Valley View, Texas, a sister-in-law, Amy Behrendt, Salem, SD, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, Barbara and three brothers, John, Bernie and Bo Behrendt.
