Jerry Mahrt, 78, passed away at Avera Queen of Peace on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Jerry was born May, 29, 1944 in Chamberlain, SD to Chester and Mary (Madsen) Mahrt. He graduated from Chamberlain Highschool. Jerry joined the Army National Guard in 1965; was honorably discharged in 1972.

He was a member of the Horseman Sports Club, Shriner's Club and the American Legion. Jerry enjoyed riding his mules, spending time in the black hills and being a part of the clubs he joined.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children; Kristy Mahrt, Ada, MN, Dixie (Perry) Mahrt, Fulton, SD, Jodi (Eric) Brown, 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his twin brother, Gary (Sue) Mahrt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Donna and a brother, Bill.
