Jeannette E. Meier 76, of Mitchell died Tuesday July 19, 2005 at the Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday July 22, at Holy Family Catholic of Mitchell with burial to follow at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Ethan. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM. Jeannette was born on July 24, 1928 in Ethan to John and Anna Erpenbach. She graduated from Ethan High School. On May 28, 1955 she was married to Joseph Meier at Holy Family Church in Mitchell. The couple moved to Milwaukee for a short time before moving to Rockford, Illinois where she worked at the Agriculture Department for 30 years. After retirement they moved back to Mitchell in July of 2004. She is survived by her husband, four sisters: Angeline McTighe, Marie Roth, Lorraine Allbee, all of Mitchell, and Lillian Roth of Hastings, Nebraska; one brother, Arthur Erpenbach (Marie) of Ethan and numerous Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
