Jeanette Clara Weiss, age 83, of Mitchell, SD died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Avera Queen of Peace ER. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial at the American Legion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM.

Jeanette Clara Weber, daughter of William and Elizabeth Weber, was born June 3, 1935 in Parkston, SD. She attended rural grade school and Plano High School, graduating from Notre Dame High School.

Jeanette was united in marriage with Gilbert F. Weiss on June 7, 1955 in Mitchell, SD. She was employed as a housekeeper at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital and Wesley Acres. She enjoyed following her grandchildren's school and sports activities, going to plays and concerts with friends. Her true love was spending time with her family and friends but especially time spent with her grandchildren.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Women of the Moose Lodge #1167, and the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion.

Grateful for having share her life are her five children, Pam (Dennis) Engbrecht, Fairfield, IA, Rhonda (Terry) Krantz, Hartford, SD, Brian (Tami) Weiss, Mitchell, SD, Brad (Josie) Weiss, Arvada, CO, Karla (Tracy) Palmer, Mitchell, SD; 12 grandchildren, John, Jeremy Engbrecht and Jill Miller, Troy and Tanner Krantz, Briana and Sky Weiss, Hunter Weiss, Jackie and Chris Vescio, Tara and Cole Palmer; 12 great grandchildren, Easton, Ceira, Tegan, Blakelee, Madilyn, Brooklyn, Natalie, Vivian, Margot, Lake, Korbin and Nick; a sisters-in-law, Doris Weber, Cora Weber and Johanna Weiss; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elmer (Quila) "Sis" Walz; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Weiss on February 15, 1997; her parents; 2 sisters, Velora Mae Bocker and Virginia Zirpel; 2 brothers, Delbert Weber and Alfred Weber.
