Jeanette Ann (Gouveia) Dorman, 75, of Mitchell, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Avera Queen of Peace. Per Jeanette's request, no services are planned. She will be laid to rest in the Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell, SD.

Jeanette was born on October 14, 1946, in Honolulu, HI to Frank and Ruth (Perry) Gouveia. She was born and raised in Honolulu, HI. Jeanette met James Arthur Dorman while he was stationed in Hawaii. The two fell in love and were married in Honolulu on February 3, 1968. To this union two daughters were born.

Jeanette was a stay at home mother until her youngest daughter (Michelle) started kindergarten; after that she worked for 13 years as a CNA where ever James was transferred to while in the Navy; even though James retired on January 31, 1983 the family moved to South Dakota and kept moving, going to California, Alabama, back to California and in October 2006 back to Mitchell, SD. She loved watching NASCAR, baseball, football, you name it she would watch it up until her passing.

Jeanette is survived by her husband; James; her two daughters; Ruth Ann Dorman, Michelle (Bart) Jacobson, granddaughter, Holly Amanda Kirkland, one great granddaughter, Nevaeh Hunter, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Steven (Bibiana) Gouveia, James (Linda) Gouveia.
