John "Jack" Carmody, age 77, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, April 17, 2021 under hospice care surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service and time of sharing beginning at 7:00 PM.

Jack was born on January 28, 1944 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He grew up in the Howard, Oldham area.  He graduated from St. Agatha High School in Howard in 1962.  On November 9, 1963 he married Mary Einerwold of Howard.  They made their home in Oldham until 1975, when they moved to Mitchell.  Jack spent his career of 36 years working for Cenex.  Most recently he enjoyed doing spring and fall field work on the McManus Farm.  Jack's favorite hobbies were cleaning vehicles, hunting, fishing, golfing, trucking with Rod and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life is his wife Mary of 57 years.  His son Brian and wife Kris, daughter Tammy and husband Robert Fuerst, and daughter-in-law, Karen and Brad Feterl.  His grandchildren:  Zach (Abby) Carmody, Nick (Samantha) Carmody, Megan (Chet) McManus, Kassie (Sean) McQuillan, Kirby Fuerst, and Wylie Fuerst.  His great grandchildren:  Landon, Parker, Tucker, Tracen, Mia, and Landree.  His two brothers, Gene (Kay) Carmody and Jim (Nan) Carmody.  His many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Family meant the world to Jack.

He was preceded in death by his son, John.  His parents, Ray and Marie Carmody, Mary's parents, James and Roselle Einerwold, his brothers Bill and Donnie, his in-laws Linda O'Neal, Jim Einerwold, and Dixie Carmody.
