Ina Jeanette (Gast) Alexander, of Alexandria, SD died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell, SD. Memorial service will be 3:00 PM Thursday, February 16 at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM Thursday prior to the memorial service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Ina Jeanette Gast, daughter of Fredrick and Florence "Minnie" (Pullins) Gast, was born June 21, 1940 in Valparaiso, IN. She grew up and received her education in Indiana. Ina moved to Reliance, SD in 1979 and then to Pukwana, SD in 1991. Ina was united in marriage with Guy Philip Alexander on January 3, 1992 in Sioux Falls, SD. She was employed at the Chamberlain Adjustment Training Center from 1993 to 1998. Ina then was employed at South Dakota Achieve in Sioux Falls, SD (formerly Sioux Vocational Service) from 1998 to 2003. She returned to the Chamberlain Adjustment Training Center from 2003 to 2005. Ina enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, spending time with her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, hubby and kids from the neighborhood. She was a member of the Eastern Star and attended Open Arms Church. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Guy Alexander, Alexandria, SD; three children, Angela (Zane) Munce, Tea, SD, Larry Jandreau, Snyder, TX, Shar'ee (Jandreau) Ellis, Baltic, SD; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Root, Indiana; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; "adopted" children and grandchildren; her dogs, Gabby and Charlie; her cats, Trooper and Alex. She was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and John Zane; her parents; and two brothers. My Angel Has Flown!
