Ian passed away to the angels on Thursday, September 23, 2010, in the early afternoon, at the Sanford Childrens Hospital in Sioux Falls of pneumonia brought on by Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was a beautiful two years old.

Ian was born on January 8, 2008, in Mitchell to Richard and Kelly (Cosand) Callahan. Ian was a boy with unconditional love for everyone and everything. Also affectionately known as Cookie-Monster, Lil-Chunky-Monkey, and Lil Bambino, he had a passion for all things musical (always dancing to sisters Disney Channel music like Hannah Montana, Selena Gomez, and Nickelodeons Big Time Rush), Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny, Spongebob Squarepants, and mummies & pirates. Eclipsing this, however, was his passion for life. Tall in stature and smart in mind for one so young, Ian had a way of speaking big words to one and all; those words filtered by his even bigger heart. Those who all came in contact with him know that he was (and IS) love incarnateand is now spreading that love to others who need to feel his touch. God needed another angel, and he got the best of them!

Ians legacy will forever be carried on by his parents, Richard & Kelly, a brother Liam and a sister and Natasha, all of Mitchell. Grandmothers Lori Cosand of Mitchell and Dotti Stetser of Mitchell, and countless others who have felt his inspiration. The years may have seemed short, but he showered all with a lifetime of loveand will continue to do so from here on out.
