Henry W. Bamberg, age 78, of Corsica, SD died Friday, December 27, 2024 at his home under hospice care surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, rural Armour, SD with burial at St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Henry "Hank" Bamberg, son of Henry and Arlene (Plamp) Bamberg, was born February 5, 1946 in Parkston, SD. He was baptized at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Hank grew up on the family farm and attended country school. He graduated from Corsica High School.

After his schooling, Hank was employed at the John Deere Dealership in Corsica. He was united in marriage with Hazel DeLange in 1966. From this marriage the couple had three children. In 1970 Hank began farming and continued to do what he loved until his health forced him to retire from farming in 2018. In his retirement, Hank moved off the farm and into Corsica.

After his wife Hazel died, he was united in marriage with Sue Verduin in 2006.

Hank enjoyed German Shephard dogs, hunting, trapping, racing cars and restoring old pickups and tractors. He truly loved watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he served on church council. Hank served six years in the South Dakota National Guard and 20 years on the Douglas County Weed Board.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Sue Bamberg, Corsica, SD; three children, Lorisa (Jason) Broughton, Corsica, SD, Wade Bamberg, Sioux Falls, SD, Nadene Hajek, Sioux Falls, SD; two step children, Shelly (Scot) Sangster, Yankton, SD, Shane (Jen Bates) Morgan, Elkhorn, NE; 6 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel (DeLange) Bamberg; and his parents.
