Helen Marie Tietz, age 85, of Mitchell, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Firesteel Healthcare Community. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 8:00 PM.

Helen Marie (Kuder) Tietz, daughter of Charles and Nola (Hagebusch) Kuder, was born January 4, 1933 in Afton, OK. She grew up in Vinita, OK and moved to Mitchell, SD in 1947

Helen was united in marriage with William F. Tietz on August 19, 1950 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. Helen was employed as a cashier for Randall Grocery Store for 30 years. In her retirement, Helen volunteered at the Corn Palace and serving as a greeter.

Helen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved in Martha Circle, serving funerals for 18 years. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion and volunteered delivering meals on wheels. Helen enjoyed gardening, raising roses, baking, camping, dancing, going to dinner with her lady friends and Saturday morning breakfast.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Marcella (Leonard) Pollreisz, Mitchell, SD, Patricia Reimnitz, Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren, Rhonda (Josh) Barlean, Shannon (Nick) Bartscher, Angela (Clay) Pearson,  Chris (Amy) Pollreisz, Mike (Kristina) Reimnitz; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn (Jerry) Damon, Maudene Hohbach, Charlene (Chuck) Reinhart; three brothers, Donnie (Linda) Kuder, Lloyd (Katherine) Kuder and Eldon (Kathy) Kuder; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Tietz on October 24, 1993; a son-in-law, Ted Reimnitz; her parents; three sisters and four brothers-in-law.
