Helen C. Rogers, age 96, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Forestburg, SD died Sunday February 27, 2005 at Covington Heights Nursing Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday March 3, 2005 at Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Artesian, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Helen was born November 26, 1908 (Thanksgiving Day) to George and Agnes (Fiedler) Carpenter. She attended grade school and high school in Fedora, SD. She was united in marriage to Dwayne Rogers on October 15, 1930. They made their home north of Forestburg. Dwayne preceded her in death in 1956, and she continued to live on the farm until moving into Forestburg in 1969. She moved to Mitchell where she resided until 1993, when she entered Covington Heights. She is survived by two sons, Jim (Marcella) Rogers, Crooks, SD and Larry (Jodie) Rogers, Worthington, MN; one daughter-in-law, Shari and Ben Cox, Sierra Vista, AZ; seven grandchildren: Tammy Voas, Chandler, AZ and children, Jake, Tyler, Sam and Suzanne; Val (Rick) Jefferys, Tomball, TX and children, Kim, Karlee and Kristen; Debbie (Dr. Jeff) Luther, Madison, SD and children, Nick Luther and Brooke (Nefu) Mageo, Madison, SD; Steve Rogers, Sioux Falls and children, Shanna (Jeff) Saribalis, Shalimar, FL., Brittany Rogers, Ft. Myers, FL; Miranda and Dalton Rogers, Sioux Falls; Mark Rogers (Elizabeth) Baltic, SD and children, Alyssa, Hayley, and Andrew; Scott Rogers (Jessica), Wichita, KS and children, Madisen and Erin; and Evan (Nicole)Rogers Sioux Falls and children, Nicholas, Andrew, and Zachary. Survivors also include three sisters, Hazel Biegger, Des Moines, IA, Irene Berger, Cedar Rapids, IA, Margie Wiese, Fedora, SD and one brother, Doug (Donna) Carpenter, Watertown, SD and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Norman, a granddaughter, Kim Rogers; three sisters and two brothers.
