IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen
Pollreisz
April 7, 1928 – November 18, 2022
Helen Pollreisz age 94 passed away peacefully at her rural Ethan home surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 AM Monday, November 28, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, SD. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 6:30 prayer service and rosary Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Ethan.
She was born on her childhood farm April 7, 1928 to Joseph and Josephine (Wermers) Weber. She attended Catholic school through the 8 th grade at Dimock, SD. She had many stories to tell about her childhood days and the hard work and hard times; but always found something good even in bad times. She always said, as we were growing up, if you don't have anything good to say then don't say it at all.
Helen married Art Pollreisz May 7, 1947 in Dimock, SD. Together they raised 8 kids and built their farm; where she remained for 75 years. Art passed away only 7 months ago; after 74 years of marriage. They once more will be reunited; as Art was waiting for her. Her faith was strong, she loved her family, a good cup of coffee, and company. Helen always put her family first; it was not easy feeding a family of 10 but she never complained. She probably went without but she never let her family know.
She baked homemade bread, cookies and cakes all while caring for her family. She was a full time stay at home mom and the best there will ever be.
Thank you, mom, for loving us and showing us the way; for we know we will all be together again someday.
We want to thank the hospice team, especially Marie, as well as Helen's grandson, Dan for caring for her. We can never thank you enough. Thank you, Father Stevens, for praying with us by our mom's side.
Helen is survived by 7 children; Tom (Arley) Pollreisz, Leonard (Marcella) Pollreisz, Ken (Pam) Pollreisz, JoAnn (Greg) Kappenman, Donna Haas, Pat (Connie) Pollreisz, Bonnie Pollreisz, 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 sisters; Rita Mutziger, Marlys Miiller, 3 brothers; Jerry Weber, Virgil (Eleanor) Weber and Bill (Vickie) Weber.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, John, her parents, her in-laws, Albert and Julia Pollreisz, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
