Helen Drost, 97 of Mitchell passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab.  A visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery.

Helen was born in Warschau, Poland on February 20, 1924.  She grew up in Poland.  On May 13, 1947 she was united in marriage with Johnny Drost in Germany.  The couple moved to Marion, SD in 1948 where Johnny was employed with the REA as a power lineman; later moving to Parkston, SD.  In 1960 Helen and Johnny made their home in Mitchell, SD.

Helen loved to dance, she was an amazing cook and enjoyed baking. She also liked going fishing, flowers as well as finding rummage sales.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 74 years, Johnny Drost, Miitchell, SD; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Donn and Mary Johnson, Mitchell, SD; and their dog, Tiny.
