Hans A. Fikse age 66, died Monday November 21, 2011 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. To have known him you remember three things. 1. His contagious smile 2.His wild hair 3. He never met a stranger. He leaves behind his wife Debbie, Daughter Shari, Son in Law Shawn, Son Billy, Grandchildren Layne, Eriqa, Veronica, Trevor and Andrew and Great Grandson Ricky; two Sisters Lucy and Nellie and one Brother Allen. He was born in Barneveld, Holland on September 12, 1945 and came to the United States at the age of 3. He worked as a mechanic, also running heavy equipment or as he would say "Played with large Tonka toys." He worked for Genco Pacific for a number of years and also REH Construction. In 2007 he moved from California to South Dakota where they had a small farm and rescued horses, ponies and some goats, Oh chickens how he loved his chickens. He enjoyed watching them thrive. He so loved having the family around and enjoyed watching them have fun with the animals too. He made your life so much richer just by knowing him. He had such a zest for life, he loved to make people happy by making them smile and laugh. He was the most loving, caring, compassionate man ever. He loved with his whole heart and soul and always will. He loved to putz (his favorite word), he loved working with his hands whether it was on cars, equipment, planting flowers or mowing, he just enjoyed working with his hands or as he would call it putzing. He will be forever Loved and Missed, He was one of a kind and we are all better from having known him.
