Gwendolyn Tillotson, age 88, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Gwendolyn Tillotson, daughter of William and Elsie (Swancott) Greenway, was born July 27, 1922 in Plankinton, SD. She graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1940 and later graduated from Methodist Hospital with an RN Degree in 1943.

Gwendolyn was united in marriage with Loy Tillotson on February 14, 1949 in Mitchell, SD. She was employed at Methodist Hospital for 35 years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and the Sioux Falls Horseless Carriage Club. Gwendolyn enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Janelle (Dennis) VenOsdel, Mitchell, SD, Barb (Mike) Keena, Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren, Nikki Keena, Angie Keena, Karie Harris, Kris VenOsdel and Kamie VenOsdel; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Anthony, England, Lavelle Dekramer, Canistota, SD; a brother, Tom (Janice) Greenway, Mitchell, SD; two sisters-in-law, Lilas Greenway, Mitchell, SD, Lillian Greenway, Mitchell, SD; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loy; an infant son; infant twin grandsons; two brothers, William and Giles; two brothers-in-law, Dale and Stub; and a sister-in-law, Wiona.
