Grace Fitzler, age 95, of Mitchell, died Sunday February 11, 2007 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Grace Bordewyk, daughter of Johannas and Rena (Grebe) Bordewyk, was born August 21, 1911 in Corsica, SD. She attended school in Springfield, SD and graduated in 1930. Grace was united in marriage with John Herbert Fitzler on August 4, 1933 in Springfield, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell in 1940. In her earlier years, Grace enjoyed baking and dancing and in her later years enjoyed her grandchildren. In 1992, Grace moved to Firesteel Healthcare Center. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. Grateful for having shared her life are her five children, Dean Fitzler and his wife, Kathy, Sioux Falls, SD, Don Fitzler and his wife, Donna, Mitchell, SD, Larry Fitzler and his wife, Teri, Omaha, NE, Vicki Rearick and her husband, Rod, Tea, SD, Jack Fitzler and his wife, Roxanne, Parkston, SD; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a special cousin, Kath Stedronsky, Lake Andes, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Fitzler; her parents; and a brother, Lyle Bordewyk.
