Glenn L. Larson, son of John Levi and Charlotte (Dahle) Larson, was born August 6, 1934 in Mitchell, SD. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Letcher, SD. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Letcher. Glenn then attended high school for four years at Canton Academy and one semester at Bible College in Minneapolis, MN. After his schooling, Glenn returned to the family farm and farmed with his father. Glenn enlisted in the US Air Force on December 28, 1956 and was honorably discharged on March 4, 1960. He returned to the family farm and continued farming and raising his beloved Black Angus cattle. Glenn also worked doing custom farming, harvesting and construction. In 1989 he started working as a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service, retiring in 2001. In his retirement, Glenn still enjoyed raising cattle. He also enjoyed following current events, politics and religion. Glenn was an avid reader and collected belt buckles and toy tractors. Glenn was united in marriage with Juanita G. (Christensen) Schroeder on December 13, 1997 in Sioux Falls, SD. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Juanita Larson, rural Woonsocket, SD; two step daughters, Brenda Kay Schroeder, Madison, SD, Belinda (John) Yarrow, Anza, CA; step grandchildren, Eric, Trevor (Larissa) and Chantel; nieces, Carolyn (Michael) Haag, Connie (David) Hattervig and Cynthia Thompson; nephew, Peter (June) Thompson all of Mitchell, SD; great nephews and nieces, Lucas, Levi, Logan, Mikayla, Colette, Charlotte, Josy, Bailey and Emily. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janet Thompson and her husband, Denton; and a great niece, Laci Hattervig. Glenn accepted Jesus as his Savior and believed that accepting and following Jesus was the only way to go to heaven.
