Gilbert D. Moller, age 76, of Mitchell, died November 19, 2004, at his residence under hospice care. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday at the First Reformed Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be at the Will Funeral Chapel Monday from 6-8 PM with a 7 PM prayer service. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery with military rites by the Stickney American Legion. Gilbert was born March 8, 1928 on the family farm in rural Mt. Vernon, SD to Albert and Gladys (Younie) Moller. He attended Baker #40 country school and graduated from Stickney High School in 1946. He farmed with his father. He married Lois Bruinsma, Sept. 6, 1950 at Aurora Reformed Church, Aurora Center, SD. He entered the US Army in 1951 and was stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama. He was honorably discharged in 1953 and returned to the family farm. Gil retired from farming in 1976, and the couple moved to Mitchell. He enjoyed reading, yard work, and visiting with friends. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and was very proud of them. He was a member of the First Reformed Church, the Lions Club and the Stickney American Legion. Gil is survived by his wife, Lois; his children, Barry Moller and wife, Jean, Stickney; LeAnne Messer, Mitchell; Pamela Goldammer and husband, Larry, Billings, Montana; Dan Moller and wife, Joann, Stickney; and Jean Marie Schubauer, and husband, Duane, Black Hawk, SD; thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three sisters: Evelyn Gerlach and husband, Lorenz; Mary Louise Weiland and husband, Calvin, all of Mitchell; and Phyllis Wieczorek and husband, Oliver, Stickney. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.
