Georgia K. North, age 79, of Mitchell, SD, was promoted to glory on January 6, 2025. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Will Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at The Salvation Army in Mitchell, SD with burial at Graceland Cemetery.

Georgia was born on March 27, 1945, to Albert "Bethel" Cunningham and Gladys (Wilson) Cunningham.

A lifelong member of The Salvation Army, Georgia lived her life with faith, love, and a servant's heart. On September 11, 1966, she married the love of her life, William North, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond.

Georgia wore many hats throughout her life, including those of a nurse's aide, bus driver, and most importantly, a dedicated mother. She had a passion for music and enjoyed sharing her talent with others. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her loving children, Captain Timothy (Captain Peggy) North and Marie (Randy) Kurth; her cherished grandchildren, Erik (Becky) Kurth, Bryanna Kurth, Ashton (Chris) Hollis, Bradley (Kelly) North, Captain Nathan (Captain Katelyn) North, Pastor Jacob (Kiley) North, and Jeannette North; as well as her ten treasured great-grandchildren. She is also remembered fondly by many other family members and close friends.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Bethel and Gladys Cunningham; her husband, William North; her sisters, LaVera Peta and Grace Jennings; and her brother, Dan Cunningham.

Georgia's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
