George Bailey, age 65, of Mitchell died Monday, November 10, 2008 at his home in Mitchell.  Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, November 14 at the Will Funeral Chapel with private burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Will Funeral Chapel.

George Bailey, son of George and Florence (Strehlow) Bailey, was born in Geddes, SD on May 18, 1943. He grew up in Geddes and graduated from Lake Andes High School. George then attended North Dakota Tech School, graduating with a degree in welding.

He was united in marriage with Vicky Brooks on April 1, 1989 in Mitchell, SD. George was employed for Sheesley's/Mitchell Plumbing and Heating for 35 years. George retired in August of 2007.

George loved to fish, camp and spend time with his beautiful grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Vicky, 2 sons: Todd (Penny) Bailey, Ft. Worth, TX and Jay (Sara) Bailey, Mitchell, SD; 4 daughters: Rachell Sprinkel and her fiancé, Patrick Weber, Mitchell, SD, Krystal, Kristi, and Colleen Bailey all of Mitchell, SD; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Autumn, Lisa and Jamie, Ft. Worth, TX, Kayla, Jaedyn, Tyler, Kassandy, Jordan and Brooklynn, Mitchell, SD; 1 brother Lou (Doris) Bailey of Tyndall, SD; and 2 sisters Mary (Ed) Olson of Glendale, CA and Rose Tomlinson of Redden, WA. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, TJ Bailey, his parents, and a sister, Cora.
