George Gallagher 83, Mitchell, formerly of Delmont, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at his residence in rural Mitchell. Memorial service will be held Friday October 8, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Armour at 7:30pm. George was born on January 31, 1921, in Syracuse, NY to George and Rose (Gaines) Gallagher. George graduated college and entered the Navy where he served as a navy pilot for 4 years in WWII. He married Dorothy (Neuhardt) on June 20, 1944. After his retirement from York Division-Borg Warner in York PA. and the loss of his wife he enjoyed a hobby farm in rural Delmont. In 2001, George moved to rural Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, both parents, and two sisters; Elizabeth and Margaret. He is survived by 2 daughters: Kathleen Bickford, Iola, Wisconsin and Gay Gallagher of Mitchell.
