Genevieve Fox age 96, of Mitchell died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a rosary at 6:30 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Genevieve Gen Fox, daughter of John and Gertrude (Bowling) Bucknell, was born May 8, 1914 in Alexandria, SD. She grew up and attended school in Emery and Alexandria, SD.

Gen was united in marriage with Clarence A. Fox on June 6, 1933 in Alexandria, SD. Gen and Clarences only son James Fox was born November 8, 1938. She devoted her life and love to her husband, son, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gen was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and faithfully said the rosary each day. In her pastime she loved to play cards and bingo.

Grateful for having shared her life are daughter-in-law Janet C. Gerken and husband Marshall of Mitchell; grandson, Mike Fox and wife Shaun of Mitchell; granddaughter, Cathy Fox-Robertson and husband Jim of Canistota; six great grandchildren Alex Robertson, Macy Robertson, Kailee Fox, Isiah Robertson, Emilee Fox and Brady Fox; one brother Bob Bucknell and wife Eileen of Sioux Falls; three sisters Lucy Shultz and husband Bernie and Marcella Bennett of Mitchell and Lavon Lau and husband Al of Omaha, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Joseph; sister Mardella Turner; brother-in-law Howard Bennett, husband Clarence and son James.
