Gen Kapsch, age 102 of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Resurrection Lutheran Church with burial at Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Gen Kapsch was born August 6, 1920 in Sanborn, IA. She attended school in Sanborn and later moved with her father to Mitchell, SD. Gen graduated from Mitchell High School.

Gen was united in marriage with Clarence Kapsch on March 24, 1940 in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell. Gen was a homemaker and raised their children. Later she was employed at the Brig Steak House and Randall Foods. She retired in the late 1970's. In their retirement, the couple wintered in Harlingen, TX.

Gen enjoyed playing solitaire and embroidery work.

She was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Sharon (Jerry) McNary, Mitchell, SD; Nancy Heckenlaible, Mitchell, SD; Doug (Julie) Kapsch, Spearfish, SD; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gerda Kapsch, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Kapsch; two sons, Clarence Jr and Larry; a great grandson, Dustin Kapsch; her parents and a son-in-law, Mitch Heckenlaible.
