Florence Shank, 94,of Mitchell passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a year long battle with cancer.  Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, July 30, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7PM prayer service Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Will Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery.

Born on family farm south of Pukwana, Brule County SD on 11-9-1926 to James (Winnie) and Clara (Soulek) Pazour.

Florence attended the Pazour school in Richland Township and graduated from Kimball High School in 1944.  Was a nurse in the Cadet Nurses Program until her marriage to Charles Eldon Shank on 6-20-1947?

Florence was a CubScout & Brownie Scout leader, assisted with 4-H Club. Founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, member of the Altar Society, Brady Resident Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary.  Florence volunteered at Avera Brady for many years.

Florence and husband Charles started their business Dakota Salvage in 1950.

Florence was proceeded in death by her husband, Charles, a daughter Linda Hammond and her son in law Boe Hammond, her parents and 3 brothers - James, Chester & Joseph Pazour.

Florence is survived by eleven children: Dennis Shank (Lynette) Lake Benton, MN; Randy Shank -Mitchell; Clara Shank-Yankton; Rose Shank (Phil)-Hawaii; Penny Fuglsby (Jim)-Yankton; Dan Shank (Ruth)-Rapid City; Fred Shank -Mitchell; Bob Shank-Mitchell; Jay Shank (Janean)-Lake Madison; Angie Shank (Brian)-Maple Grove, MN; Vicky Konvalin (Greg) - Piedmont, SD.  23 Grandkids and many Great Grandkids and Great Great Grandkids and God Children and a special niece Louise Metz.

Florence was always welcoming and loving to those she met, there is a big hole in all our hearts, we are who we are because of her unconditional love.
