Florence Irene Moke, age 97, of Mitchell, SD died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Resurrection Lutheran Church with burial at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Florence Irene Moke, daughter of August and Martha (Titze) Plamp, was born September 4, 1919 on the family farm in Rural Douglas County, SD. She attended country school and after her schooling, helped on the family farm.

Florence was united in marriage with William Moke on October 9, 1940 at Hillside Church in Rural Dimock, SD. The couple farmed south of Mt. Vernon, SD. In 1968 the couple moved to Stickney, SD. While in Stickney, Florence helped her husband, William do custodial work at the Stickney High School. She then worked at Randall Foods in Mitchell for several years. In 1982 the couple retired to Mitchell.

She enjoyed gardening, yard work, quilting and square dancing in earlier years.

Florence was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD.

Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, Carolyn Kost, Rapid City, SD, Arlen (Anne) Moke, Mitchell, SD, Duane Moke; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Betty Metzger, Mitchell, SD; a daughter-in-law, Diane Moke, Mitchell, SD; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; a son, Duane Moke; her parents; a brother in infancy, Arthur; a son-in-law, Dennis Kost; two sisters-in-law, Edna (Harold) Tiede and Eileen (Walter) Moke; a brother-in-law, Vernon Metzger.
