Florence Myra Klingaman passed away November 22, 2007 Firesteel HealthCare Center in Mitchell. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell, with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Florence was born February 12, 1907 in Clinton, Iowa to Charles and Birdie (Vosburg) Chase. She was one of eight children. She grew up in Clinton, which is on the Mississippi River, acquiring great knowledge and love of the outdoors and river lore. She attended Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa where she studied Home Economics and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta. She met her husband, Charles Klingaman, in Ames. They married January 25, 1930. They then moved to Mitchell during the Great Depression, put down their roots, and spent the remainder of their lives there. She was a member of the Eastern Star, PEO, the Methodist Church, and participated in various community activities throughout her life here in Mitchell. Florence is survived by her son, Dick (Karyn) Klingaman of Mitchell, her daughter, Kay (Joe) Drew of El Cajon, CA; grandchildren, Sarah Drew of Mill Valley, CA, Susan (Reza) Estilaei of San Francisco, CA, Kleve (Tonya) Klingaman of Mitchell, and Bill (Anna) Drew of Rancho Santa Fe, CA; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1997, her parents, one brother, and six sisters, and a granddaughter, Ann Drew.
