Faye Edwards age 90, of Letcher died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Firesteel Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday at Letcher Community Church in Letcher. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Letcher. Faye was born March 26, 1922 in Forestburg, SD to George Weston and Jessie (Tlustos) Mack. She graduated from Forestburg School in 1940. Faye attended Dakota Wesleyan University and completed her college degree in 3 ½ years, graduating in 1943. She began her teaching career in Alpena. In the fall of 1945 Faye began teaching in the Letcher High School until retiring until 1987, taking time off to raise her family. She continued substitute teaching for several more years. In her spare time, Faye collected and wrote news for various newspapers. On June 1, 1944 Faye married Lyle Edwards in Letcher. They resided on a farm south of Letcher until the fall of 1967, when they bought a house in Letcher. Throughout her years she was active in: Women's Fellowship, Study Club, Forestburg Club, Card Club, Ladies Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and a member of the Letcher Community Church. Grateful for sharing her life are son, Lanning (Jerri) Edwards of Mitchell, two daughters, Debbie (Ray) Lee of Green River, WY and Dawn (Myron) Grosz of Mitchell; son-in-law Bruce Hildebrandt of Hermosa; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Lois (Jim) Evers and Arlene Hanten; a cousin Harlen (Joyce) Tlustos, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle in 2004, daughter Patty in 2000 and, her parents
