Evelyn J. Radensleben age 95, of Alexandria, died at her son's home in Huron on Monday, July 6th, 2015. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 10th, at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00PM Thursday, July 9th, at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell, with a 7:00 prayer service. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery, Spencer, SD. Evelyn was born to Leon and Emily (Patton) Shoecraft on April 20, 1920 on a farm near Doland, SD, where she spent most of her childhood and schooling. She moved with her family to a farm near Farmer, SD in 1937. Evelyn married Archie Radensleben October 8th, 1942 at the Lutheran Church in Spencer, SD. They farmed for 26 years on a farm near Farmer, where their three children were born. In 1971 they moved into Alexandria, SD where she worked for the Alexandria Locker for 13 years before her retirement in 1984. She loved flowers and had many beautiful flower gardens. She was a member of St. Martins Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Grateful for sharing her life are her three children, Jean Ferguson, Mitchell, SD, Bette (Larry) McDaniel, Boulder, CO, and Jeffrey, Huron, SD; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey Franks, Salem, SD, Doris Hasler, Clark, SD and Virgie Harding, Phelon, CA, and sister-in-law, Esther Woodraska, Bridgewater, SD; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a grandson, two brothers, and three sisters.
