Evelyn was born September 15, 1917 at Crawford, Nebraska to Chester and Hazel (Furman) DuBois.
She moved to Mitchell in 1924 and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1936 and Dakota Wesleyan University in 1938.
On June 18, 1940 she married Dale V. Andersen. They operated and owned Andersen Farms Inc. which produced mink, cattle and hogs along with farming. They also operated the Mitchell Packing Company. In her later years, Evelyn made her home at Country Side Living, where she enjoyed friends and social activities.
She was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church and was an active member of the United Methodist Women group and served as their treasurer. Evelyn was also a member of the Martha Circle and in 1970 was awarded a Special Membership in the Women's Society of Christian Services. Evelyn was also a 60 year member of the Mitchell PEO Chapter J.
Evelyn is survived by one son Calvin and wife Sharon of Mitchell; her daughter Roberta Rylance and husband Ray of Watertown, SD and a daughter-in-law, Rose Andersen, Mitchell. She will also be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her son David, her parents, two brothers; Howard and Chuck DuBois and two great grandsons, Tyler and Luke Heins.
