Eva Royalty, age 77, of Mitchell, SD died Thursday October 27 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday October 31, 2011 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Eva Louise Kousman, daughter of Anton and Clara (Berquist) Kousman, was born February 26, 1934 in Mitchell, SD. She grew up and attended school in Mitchell. Eva was united in marriage with James Royalty on March 2, 1951 in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell before moving to Mt. Vernon, SD in the mid 1950's. In 1975, they moved to Mitchell where she continued to live until her death. Eva was employed for many years at Smith Manufacturing and later at Helping Hands. She volunteered at the Salvation Army for the past several years where she was highly involved with many of their programs. She also attended church there. Eva dedicated her life to taking care of her family, friends, and her former clients. She was truly one of God's Angels. Although Eva faced many hardships and obstacles in her life, she was still able to keep her faith and share her gift of taking care of others. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Edwin (Teresa) Royalty, Rapid City, SD; two daughters-in-law, Diane Royalty and Wanda Strand-Kobes, Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren, Slade Royalty, Rapid City, SD, Cody Royalty, Rapid City, SD, Taunya Sanders, New Port News, VA, Kerry Royalty, Manhattan, KS, Kris (Amber) Royalty, Mitchell, SD; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Vera) Kousman, Texas, John (Darlene) Kousman, Texas; a sister, Delores Abeln, Mitchell, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "John" Royalty; two sons, Wesley "Pete" Royalty, Ronnie Royalty; a grandson, Shaun Royalty; parents, and brother-in-law, Harold Abeln.
