Eva Hoff, age 88 of Fremont NE, formerly of Mitchell died Friday, October 27, 2006 in Fremont NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at the United Congregational Church of Mitchell with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery of Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday October 31 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Eva was born on January 13, 1918, at Tyndall, SD to Michael and Minnie (Hiebult) Brady. She graduated from Tyndall High School and lettered in track. She attended Southern State Teachers College in Springfield, SD and graduated in two years with a teaching certificate. She taught school for four years. Eva married Theophil Tape Hoff on October 28, 1938, at Tripp, SD. They lived on a farm in the Tripp area until they moved to Dante, SD, in 1943. They ran Tapess Place until 1951 until they moved to Mitchell in January, of 1951. She worked for Feinsteins Clothing Store and helped run Tapes Stop N Shop Liquor store on East 2nd. She then worked for Shopko until she retired. She enjoyed dancing, card games, attending her sons sporting events and working with special kids. She moved to Fremont, Nebraska in April of 2005 where she lived until her death. She was a 50 year member of the UCC Congregational Church, a member of United Commercial Travelers, the Moose, Lions Club, the Elks, and Eastern Star of Masonic Temple. She survived by a son, Guy Lee Hoff and wife, Carol, a daughter-in-law, Marion Hoff, six grandchildren, Michael Hoff, Julie Fraser, Marci Linde, Stacey Hoff, Tamara Heinke, Gretchen Hoff and eleven great grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Tape Hoff; her son, Gary L. Hoff, and a sister, Elaine Pravacek.
