Esther H. Renken, age 91, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Esther H. Renken was born August 4, 1930 in Platte, SD. She grew up in Platte and attended school there. She later moved to Mitchell, SD. Esther was united in marriage with John Renken in Mitchell.

She was employed as a nurse's aid in the nursery department at the Methodist Hospital for many years. After her retirement from the hospital she worked at Lueken's Bakery.

She was a member of the UCC Church in Loomis, SD

Esther enjoyed baking, crocheting and reading.

Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, Robert (Mary) Renken, Gillette, WY, Helen Runge, Mitchell, SD, Mary (Terry) Nutter, Mitchell, SD; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Billy Runge; a sister, Hilda Hanson and a son-in-law, William Runge.
