Erna Rosina Riecke, age 99, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 14, 2014 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation and refreshments will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Erna Rosina Schuh, daughter of Leonard and Mary (Bietz) Schuh, was born February 4, 1915 in Douglas County, SD. She grew up on a farm and attended country school. Erna was united in marriage with Albert Riecke on June 5, 1936 at Hillside Church in rural Dimock, SD. The couple farmed in Davison County until 1974 then they retired to Mitchell, SD. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. Erna was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Mitchell, SD. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Erna was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Riecke on December 15, 1984; her parents; two sisters, Emma Berg and Adeline Hartman; and six brothers, Edwin, Arthur, Herbert, Bernard, Gedion and Arnold.
