Obituary

Emma Hanssen, age 102, of Princeton, Wisconsin, formerly of Alexandria died June 18, 2007 in Princeton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, June 29, 2007, at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Emma was born on September 28, 1904, at Emery, South Dakota, to Carl and Elizabeth (Triebwasser) Lang. She married Otto Hanssen March 26, 1925 at Emery and they farmed in the Emery area. They lived on the farm for sixteen years and then bought a home in Alexandria where they lived for sixty-five years. Otto died on October 29, 1988 and Emma moved to Wisconsin to be near her daughter, Lulu. She is survived by her children: Bernice Kewley and husband, Clarence, Hartford, SD, Lulu Kenton, Princeton, WI, Denis Hanssen and wife, Gloria, Sioux Falls,SD and Geraldine Lynn, Highland Heights, CA; twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren; three sisters, Clara Sampson of Vermillion,SD, Rose Johnson of Brookings, SD and Lillian Ochsner of Mitchell,SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, Emil, Ted, Benny, Ervin and four sisters, Martha, Lydia, Leah, Anna, and Maxine.
