Emily Jo Peterson-Rearick age 39, of Sioux Falls, SD died Sunday, January 1, 2017, in El Centro, CA. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD with the Rev. John Hansen officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell, SD.

Emily Jo Peterson-Rearick was born on May 25, 1977 in Viborg, SD. She attended Mitchell Senior High School and graduated from Black Hills Beauty College in Cosmetology. Emily made her career as a beautician and a Mary Kay Consultant. Emily married Kyle Rearick on December 31, 2014 in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home in Sioux Falls, SD but for the last year chased their dream of traveling to meet new people and expand their business.

Emily enjoyed her time spent traveling in their motorhome, playing pool, the game of aggravation, and was a fan of the New England Patriots. She was loved by many friends as people were drawn to her outgoing personality.

Grateful to have shared her life are her husband Kyle Rearick of Sioux Falls, SD; her parents, Stanley Peterson of Mitchell, SD, and Julie Thiesse of Tea, SD; her daughter Casidy Peterson of Mitchell, SD; her sons, Sam Comp of Mitchell, SD, and Carter Schuster of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Abigail and Joelle Peterson; brothers Greg Peterson (Angela) of Beresford, SD, and Ben Thiesse (Katie) of Wonder Lake, IL; sister Lydia Thiesse of Tea, SD; mother and father-in-law Rod and Vicki Rearick, sister-in-law Christy (Aaron) Gilley, brothers-in-law Kenny and Kory Rearick; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong hand-picked special friend JoAnn Hayes, her Mary Kay family and host of many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Justin and Agnes Peterson and Loren and Patty Krier; infant cousin Jeffrey Peterson.
