Elvina Bosworth, age 97, of Mitchell died June 9, 2007 at Aurora Brule Nursing Home in White Lake. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday June 12, at the Presbyterian Church in Mitchell with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Monday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM Elvina was born on January 15, 1910 in Worthington, Iowa to Anton and Helena (Lenhoff) Mairose. At 9 months of age she moved to the White Lake, SD area by train with her parents, one brother, and 4 sisters. She received her education in rural area schools and the parochial school in White Lake. She was employed at various places in the area. On September 1, 1930 she married Al Bosworth in Mitchell. They made their home in rural White Lake and farmed in Aurora County where all 5 of their children were born. In 1950 they moved to a farm east of Mitchell. They farmed there until the death of her husband Al in 1980. She continued to live on the farm until moving to Wesley Acres in 1996. Her oldest son now resides on the home farm. She retired from J.C. Penneys in 1975 after being employed there for 15 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Mitchell and a charter member of the Mitchell Senior Citizen Center. Elvina is survived by 1 son, Tom and wife Lois, rural Mitchell, 3 daughters; Audrey Sonne, Seattle, WA, Bonnie Thedin and husband Jim, Morris, MN, Diana Henline and husband John, Bismarck, ND, Dons widow Elaine Bosworth, Chamberlain, SD. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Al, her parents, a son Don, 1 brother Peter Mairose, 4 sisters Clara Thiry, Loretta Thiry, Erma Weires, Melinda Gales, 1 grandaughter Susan Douglass, 1 daughter-in-law Carol Bosworth, 1 son-in-law Kenneth Sonne, 1 great grandson Chris Phillips.
