Elmer Mueller, age 95, of Mitchell, SD, died Monday, November 16, 2015 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Dimock, SD with burial at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 20, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mitchell, SD with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Elmer Mueller, son of Arthur and Anna (Storm) Mueller, was born December 8, 1919 in Davison County, SD. He attended rural school in Union Township. Elmer was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. He farmed until he entered the US Army in May of 1942, where he served in the 808th Engineer Battalion in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in July of 1945.

Elmer was united in marriage with Elda Schultz on November 17, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Dimock, SD. The couple farmed until 1996 when they moved to Mitchell. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mitchell, SD.

Grateful for having shared his life are his three children, Darrell (Marilyn) Mueller, Mt. Vernon, SD, Chuck Mueller, Mitchell, SD, Doug (Bev) Mueller, Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four step grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey (LaVerna) Mueller, Parkston, SD; a sister-in-law, Margaret Mueller, Parkston, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elda in 2001; seven sisters; and two brothers.
