Eldered C. Smiley Bardon, age 89, of Union Grove, WI and formerly of Mitchell, died Friday, April 25, at the Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove, WI. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 3 at the Stavanger Cemetery, rural Platte. Eldered C. Bardon was born November 23, 1918 to Walter and Phoebe (Schlegal) Bardon in Sibley County, MN. He grew up in the LeSeur, MN area and attended school there. On October 7, 1939 Eldered was united in marriage with Evelyn Gabrielson at LeSeur, MN. To this union five children were born. They moved to Mitchell are in the mid 1940s where he was employed as a body mechanic at Western Chevrolet. In 1959 they moved to Miami, FL for a short time later returning to Mitchell in 1961. He then worked at Verschoor Chevrolet, until his early retirement in the late 1970s. In his retirement he enjoyed gardening Eldered was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Grateful for sharing his life are his children Paul (Sue) Bardon, Lakeport, MI, Melvin (Karen) Bardon, Bluffton, SC, Judi (Doug) Furey, Oconomowoc, WI, Pauline (Greg) Trent, Fruita, CO and Patricia (Ron) Johnson, Racine, WI; his brothers: Howard, Willard, Vernon, and Adolph; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn on January 14, 2000; his parents; two brothers, Ivan and Martin and two sisters Rose and Ruth.
