Elda Victor, age 82 of Sioux Falls, formerly of Mitchell, and Pierre, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Prince of Peace Nursing Home in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 25 at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell, with burial to follow at Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM. Elda Luella Victor was born on October 31, 1923 at Oldham, South Dakota to William and Anna (Pederson) Larson. She graduated from Oldham High School and Sioux Valley School of Nursing in 1946. She worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Marys Hospital in Pierre, SD and retired in 1985. She served as a Stewart Minister and Hospice nurse during her retirement years. Nursing and caring for others was her lifes mission. Elda married Robert Duane Victor on May 21, 1950 in Oldham, South Dakota. They made their first home in Mitchell where they lived for 11 years. They then moved to Pierre and resided there until 2003 when they moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to their children. Elda was a member of Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre and Chapter CG of the PEO Sisterhood. She enjoyed sewing, hardangar, rosemaling, and the gift of quilting which she shared with family and friends. Grateful for having shared her life is her husband, Robert; her children, Rich (Mary) Victor, Cheryl (Tom) Gaeckle , all of Sioux Falls, and Dave (Angie) Victor of Mitchell; and her grandchildren, Josh and Vanessa Victor, Nate, Luke, Molly and Sam Gaeckle and Brett Victor. Elda was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herman, Olaf and Evald Larson.
