Elaine Grant, 94, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Elaine Grant, daughter of Harry and Rachel (Gunderson) Houseman, was born March 14, 1922 in Sioux Falls, SD. At a young age she moved with her family to Mitchell. Elaine attended school in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School. After her schooling, Elaine moved with her family to Philadelphia, PA. While in Philadelphia, Elaine was employed as a receptionist at Philadelphia National Bank.

She was united in marriage with Charles Spink and later with James Grant.

She was a member of Mitchell First United Methodist, the James Valley Senior Citizens Center and the Red Hats. Elaine enjoyed playing bridge, reading and especially shopping.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Suzanne Spink, Mitchell, SD; special friends, Ray, Brenda and Bryce Paradis.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; a sister, June Matsuk; two brothers, Bud Houseman and Ronald Houseman.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Safe Haven Animal Clinic.
